Manchester United have endured their worst start to a league season in 28 years. With just six wins from 13 games and a negative goal difference, they currently sit seventh, closer to bottom-placed Fulham that top-of-the-table Manchester City.
Things are a little rosier in the Champions League, where Jose Mourinho’s men have clinched progress to the last 16 with a game to spare, but even there there has been cause for concern due to the laboured 1-0 victory over Young Boys and the drab goalless draw at home to Valencia.
With a six-point gap to the Premier League’s top four, United need to rediscover their form quickly if they are to stand any chance of claiming a place in next season’s Champions League, a matter upon which Mourinho’s further employment may well rest.
In the above video, our friends at Football Whispers have picked out five under-used members of the United squad who could help get the Red Devils back on track if given more first-team opportunities.
United are priced at 7.00 with RedArmyBet to finish in the Premier League’s top four this season*
