Ahead of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, for Manchester United player and coach Brian McClair gives us the three games he’s picked as part of his treble.
Watford v Burnley (Watford to win).
Burnley have won their last 3 PL games lifting them to safety however I think that Watford will win this encounter after an excellent result at Selhurst Park. Watford came from behind to win 2-1 against Palace with ex-United midfielder Tom Cleverley scoring a superb winner, good to see him back in action after such a long lay off through injury.
Newcastle v Cardiff (Newcastle to win).
Cardiff v Newcastle in August was a very, very poor game, Newcastle have slipped into the bottom three, but I fancy a home win that will take them above their next opponents. Rafa Benitez has had his issues with the owner but seems to be able to do enough to keep his team competitive in the Premier League. Rio Ferdinand’s recent comments about the Newcastle fans being lucky to have Mike Ashley as an owner certainly seems to have ruffled a few feathers and it’s obvious the supporters don’t agree.
Fulham v Spurs (Spurs to win).
Spurs played v well against United, were it not for some David De Gea heroics they would have got something from the game. Fulham may be buoyed by their opponents injury concerns and international duties, losing both Harry Kane and Heung-min Son would be a blow for any team, but I’m plumping for an away win.
