England’s exit is Wan-Bissaka’s gain
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is apparently set for a Manchester United medical this week ahead of a £55m switch move from Crystal Palace following England’s early exit from the Euro Under-21 Championship.
The 21-year-old full-back will return from England’s poor showing to complete the move if reports are to be believed before jetting off on holiday ahead of joining his new teammates for pre-season training in July
England were dumped out of the competition after a winless tournament – losing to France and Romania but drawing 3-3 with Croatia, though their exit means the deal can now be completed after much speculation.
The Telegraph stated on Wednesday that Ed Woodward and head of corporate development Matt Judge have travelled down to London in an attempt to push through the move.
Kalidou Koulibaly on Solskjaer’s radar
It’s being widely reported that Kalidou Koulibaly has hinted he’ll be looking for a shock Napoli exit this summer and could become a United target with the news that Leicester City ace Harry Maguire is set to join rivals Man City.
The powerful centre-back, 28, is widely regarded as one of Europe’s best defenders and is reported to be on the radar of Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who will be keen to add some stability to his back-line after a disappointing campaign last year.
City are not expected to match the Foxes’ £80million valuation of Maguire, rating him at £60m, and although United can top that Maguire apparently has his heart set on moving to the Etihad and not Old Trafford, meaning Koulibaly could be the ideal replacement.
Neymar offered in Pogba swap
Manchester United are set to go back in for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe this summer despite reports in France claiming he would prefer a move to PSG as he aims to take over the role set to be vacated by wantaway Neymar.
L’Equipe claim Inter have tabled an £80m bid this week but that could well spark a bidding war with United heavily involved according to French media especially if they can boost their transfer coffers by selling Pogba and Romelu Lukaku who have both been linked with moves away from Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, United have reportedly been offered Neymar in exchange for Paul Pogba with The Independent claiming that PSG have opened discussions with the club as the Ligue 1 champions become more and more reluctant to sell to Barcelona.
